A>G>M 2009
THE BUBBLING POT ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING
Held at Bradwell Common Community Hall
25th February 2009
Present: June, Derek, Paul, Pam, Carol and Roz.
Apologies: Gary
Introduction by Derek
Good afternoon and thank you for attending the first Bubbling Pot A.G.M.
As most of you are aware the Bubbling Pot Project was set up last year with the aim of raising funds to purchase a piece of land, hopefully a couple of acres or so of woodland for the local Pagan community to use for devotional purposes, Handfastings, Meditation, etc., to be maintained by us as part of what our paths represent for honouring our Planet.
Hopefully this afternoon you will put forward any ideas you may have for fundraising to achieve our common goal.
We made a good start last year with the Midsummer Ball, our first event setting the pace, uniting over eighty people from several Covens and local Pagan groups-some achievement in itself (chuckle!) Everyone had lots of fun and good music was provided by local Pagan musicians. - Thank you to them for their support.
Summer picnic at the Medicine Wheel followed, although only a couple of people attended, this continued to build our community bonds.
The Halloween Ball proved immensely popular. Live music and great fun for all, as well as fundraising. This will be a firm fixture in local Pagan events from now on, as will the Summer Ball.
The last event of 2008 was the Yule Bazaar at Bancroft. There were twelve stalls with many varied and good value seasonal gifts on offer. There was a steady flow of customers for most of the afternoon. Thank you to all the stall holders and support.
Finally may I introduce you to our Committee. Paul our President, Pam Secretary, June treasurer, myself Chairman and Committee members Roz, Sandy, Carol and Gary.
I will now pass you over to Paul.
Comments by Paul.
Presidents speech
Welcome everyone to the first AGM of the bubbling pot fund,
I first want to let you know about why we have come together.
2 years ago I looked into the possibility of raising a stone circle in Milton Keynes
as a monument to our heritage and as a place of worship for the people of the pagan path. This was not an attempt to upstage the medicine wheel but an attempt to create a site which would allow the celtic heritage of this land to be shown, here in "Pagan Central".
As you know this city has many artistic sites but this one was to redress the balance for the pagans. It became a major task to cut through red tape but I was told that it was a possibility so I went ahead.
On the day I was submitting the plans for it I received news that it could not be done by the Parks Trust.
After much thought I decided that the only way forward would be to buy a piece of land and we could have a place for the pagans without the restrictions of local politics.
To this end I got in touch with the MK Earthlore Group and we decided to do some thing about this.
Due to many happy meetings and the return of people I have known for years, this was made possible and has been underway for 12 months.
Last year we set up a website and June arranged our first big event, the June Ball, which was excellent and thanks go to her for that .
The news was finally getting out that we where trying to do something for the pagans in m.k . This was followed by the picnic in august and then by the Halloween ball and the Yule bazaar.
The arrival of the 'Bubbling Pot' table at our events and the earthlore moots where we can recycle your unwanted small goods or sell your wares for the fund has all helped towards this end. All donations are welcome.
We have done well in the six months that we have been going now - lots of you have attended the events and the word is spreading.
My thanks go to those who in every way have made this possible.
June, Pam, Derek, Sandy, Gary, Mark, Michael, Carol and Roz to name just those on the committee. Obviously our thanks go to all of you who have supported us as well.
This year we are looking into the possibility of becoming a full charity.
We also have events in planning which will be happening throughout the year and will continue the good work.
The Summer Ball and the REAL witches ball are to become two dates which we intend to run every year.
The Yule bazaar we are hoping will grow into a major day-long event.
We are looking at a sponsored cycle event involving Ralph.
We are also looking at a psychic fayre
However, as it is at the moment the next big event will be on the 2nd of May to celebrate Beltaine and held at Westbury Farm. The details are not fully developed yet but
it will be Beltaine themed - watch this space.
My final thanks go out to all of you. This thing, group what ever it is, is driven by the community. Without you it could not work. We are not political - we are doing this for everyone.
The land will be held in the name of the Bubbling Pot but it will be open to all.
Anyone who wishes to join the committee is welcome and anyone who wishes to put forward suggestions or help is also welcome. It is open to all.
Anyway, that is about all of it so far. I hope the story does not end here but will continue to be written for many years.

Sandi is going to provisionally book this, explaining who we are and that we are applying for charity status. The price of the hall is £8 for preparation time and £17 and hour for the rest of the evening (a Sat).
Further discussion on halls to hold events followed leading to the unanimous decision that the top price we could pay would be £100.
