Report on Summer Picnic held at the Stone Circle on 23/8/08

Despite it being a warm sunny day the turnout was very poor and the Healing Circle was unable to take place. Reasons for this could be that it was a Bank Holiday weekend.

The Hall: Paul has a blank signed check to pay for the hall within the next couple of days.

Paul has arranged & sorted equipment on loan from the hall. This includes 6 buckets for water outside for smokers. There are 30 tables and 60 chairs available.

Tickets: There are 130 tickets for sale, 20 have been taken out for musicians and committee. Paul and June have potentially sold 20 tickets each and Mark has asked for 2 tickets.

June suggested, and all agreed that as much focus as possible must be put on selling the tickets by texting and asking as many people as possible.

Bar: Mary will be working the bar and a price list for drinks has to be displayed. The cost of the licence for the evening is £21.

Tarot: Dot will be away at this time so June offered to ask Carol D if she could also do Tarot readings during the evening with Layla.

Raffle: It was suggested and agreed that 6 main prizes would be sufficient.

Gary has offered to go to Fired Earth for a possible donation. A signed CD from Damh the Bard has been promised. Mark offered to find out the possibility of a Besom, also, to approach a glass blower about donating a glass model of a Witch, Cauldron or Chalice.

Other suggestions are Tarot cards and a pumpkin. Also, to approach other shops who support Community projects.

Carol offered to ring Craig about donating a Wand and inviting him to the Ball.

Mark has offered to sell the raffle tickets and Pam and Derek will do the raffle.

Music: by George, Julian, Peter and Dave amongst others. The Band will play for approximately 40 minutes starting at 9pm.

Fancy Dress: Paul and Roz are organising trophies, wooden spoon, sweets etc. as prizes.

Also, Gary to compere the evening and Paul will be on patrol. June will confirm with Nikki regarding the Face Painting.

Michael suggested a photographer (Richard Hodges) to take pictures to be bought on the night. Michael will put Paul and Richard in touch to discuss the idea.

June will be looking at a hall in New Bradwell tomorrow and other possible venues will be researched.

It was agreed that stallholders should pay a £10 pitch fee plus a donation which will be put aside for future raffle prizes.

Ideas for stalls as well as those in last minutes: Kat …..Gothic ware. Rachel…..Crystals & Reiki, Hilary…. Crystal Healing and Dawn…… Yule flower arrangements.

Michael has offered front page on MK.com and the Bubbling Pots own section on the site.

Paul and Michael have agreed to discuss other ways of advertising.

A discussion ensued on the possibility of 11 acres of land in Hanslope at the cost of £63,000. It includes 6 natural springs. The results of a High Court hearing will confirm whether this would be a possibility. More details by next month.

Pam to ring Ralph regarding the possibility of a sponsored cycle ride, and to invite him as a guest at the next Committee meeting.

Tony Rand from the YMCA can organise this for a £5 organising fee.

Paul proposed Michael and Mark be voted on as Associate Members. All agreed.
